I am Grace, I live in Leeds and I have loved horses ever since I was 5 and was plonked on a donkey at a very odd riding school! James Herriot and Ruby Ferguson inspired me to write my own story about horses who have taught me much about life and love.

The Yard is the culmination of a life full of ponies and horses and I will use the profits from sales to go towards a farm-based therapy centre for the terminally ill.
I currently use a range of therapies to treat cancer patients and it is my life’s dream to be able to provide a haven with farm animals to help seriously ill people return to nature. I hope you enjoy these chapters.

The cover of my book has been painted by my favourite artist, Ruth Buchanan! As you can see, she puts her heart and soul into her work and I am honoured that she agreed to allow me to use her beautiful pictures.
